SALMON CREEK

Project
Summary
Location:
Vancouver, Washington

Problem:

Salmon Creek was undercutting the creek bank, causing severe erosion and encroaching the above bike path, cable-fence, and parking lot.

Solution:

"Terra Wall" was built to handle the channelized creek with a 1:1.5 slope. Vegetation included willows, alder and an indigenous hydro seed.

Results:

By restoring and enhancing the natural habitat, we were able to stop the erosion, save two trees, and achieve vegetation within 8 weeks.
